Doctrinal Truths of the
Christian Faith |
|
Below are fundamental truths regarding man, his fallen state, and how Jesus
Christ came to resolve our human dilemma. This is the bases of the Christian
faith.
|
Foundational Truths:
1.
Man is justified by grace
through faith, alone, free of any human merit.
2.
The believer’s salvation is
for all eternity, affected neither by human merit, nor lack thereof.
3.
Any religion not aligned
with the above statements is not a part of the New Testament Church, the
Bride of Christ. It is therefore a false religion.
4.
The Scriptures (the Bible)
is the ONLY complete, inerrant, infallible Word of God. It does not
contain the Truth, it is Truth.
a.
Complete – the Bible
contains nothing that should not be there nor is missing anything that
should be there.
b.
Inerrant – there are no
errors (mistakes) in the Bible. Every word is God’s Word.
c.
Infallible - the Bible, in
its entirety, is completely true, accurate, and God breathed.

The human dilemma:
1.
All humans are born in sin.
At birth, they acquire what is referred to as a ‘sin nature’. This is
the doctrine of the natural depravity of
man. All men (and women) are sinners by birth.
2.
Man cannot change his
sinful nature through any effort of his own.
3.
Sinful man, as he is, is
separated from God.
4.
Man, by nature, does not
seek God, but distances himself from God. Sinful man hates God.
5.
Man’s sin nature, if not intervened, will culminate in spiritual death
and eternal Hell.
|
The answer to the human dilemma:
1.
Man, by his own efforts, cannot
redeem himself. A lifetime of good works will never be sufficient
merit to meet God’s approval and salvation.
2. Only through Jesus Christ, the Son of
God, can a man find forgiveness for his sin, receive the new birth,
and be granted eternal life, based on his faith in Christ’s
efficacious death on the cross on his behalf.
|
The Person of Jesus Christ:
1. He is God the Son, the second person
of the Trinity
2. He has no beginning nor end. He has,
is, and will be for all eternity
3. He was God incarnate in the flesh.
4. Being born of a virgin, he was and is
without sin.
5. He was crucified as payment for our
sin, buried, and bodily rose from the dead on the third day.
6. He ascended to Heaven and sits at the
right hand of God the Father.
7. He will bodily return again to set up
His millennial kingdom here on earth.
8. Upon making His enemies His
footstool, He will establish Himself as King of Kings and Lord of
Lords for all eternity.
